You can use the Catalog Browser to open a table for viewing or editing.
To examine and open tables from the Catalog Browser:
- Access the Catalog Browser dialog box, then click the Table tab. Notice the list of locations, each preceded by a + button.
- Click a Location's + button to display a list of AuthIDs. Each AuthID is preceded by a + button.
Notice that as you click each + button, SQLWizard displays a list of the sub-items for that object, and replaces the + button with a - button. Click the + button to expand an object list and the - button to collapse the list. If no button appears next to an item, no sub-items are available.
- Click the + button preceding an AuthID. SQLWizard displays the Tables/Views/Synonyms/Aliases objects.
- Click the + button in front of Tables to see a list of the tables.
- Click the + button preceding a table. SQLWizard displays a list of columns in the table. The Catalog Browser lets you view the column
names in your table without displaying the table. Click the - button to remove the columns from the Catalog Browser display.
- Click a table name to highlight it.
- Click the Open button, or click and drag the table's name to the SQLWizard desktop.
SQLWizard displays the table in a Result window.
- Close the Result window using the Close command from the File menu, or double click the Control Menu box in the upper left corner of the window.
