Use the following procedure to complete the Location Configuration dialog box if you are using TCP/IP to access DB2 through the XDB Link Host Option.
To define an XDBHOST connection
If you have an earlier version of XDB Link, give this version a new package name. We suggest that you adopt a package naming convention that includes the XDB Link version number-- for example, XLNK600, XLNK601, XLNK602. In a multiple-gateway environment, this allows XDB Links with older software to continue to function. It also preserves the original package name in case you want to revert to the earlier version of XDB Link software.
In this field... | Specify the following... |
---|---|
Remote APPLID | The APPLID of the remote DB2 subsystem.
Worksheet row A9. |
Remote HOST | The name of the host IP address as specified in the HOSTS file on this machine.
Worksheet row J2. |
Port | The name of the TCP/IP port dedicated to the XDB Link Host Option as specified in the SERVICES file on this machine.
Worksheet row J3. |
The Local HOST field in this group box displays the name of the XDB Server on which your XDB Link software resides. You cannot change this value.
The host code page values are the current default settings. The actual code page values used for this connection are dynamically determined when XDB Link connects with this remote host. (See Code Mappings for more information regarding host code pages.)
