Allocating a new partitioned data set

If the Remote Systems window is not displayed, click Window > Show View > Remote Systems.
  1. In the Remote Systems window, log on to the mainframe.
  2. Right-click Mainframe Explorer, then click Allocate > New partitioned data set. The Allocate a new partitioned dataset screen appears.
  3. Complete the details for the new data set, then click OK.
    Tip: For help completing the fields, click Help on the dialog box.

    The new data set is added to the catalog.

  4. If the data set is included in one of your search filters, right-click Mainframe Explorer, then click Refresh to display it.
