Managing Workgroups

Restriction: This topic applies only when the AppMaster Builder AddPack has been installed, and applies only to Windows platforms.

As an administrator, you can create an unlimited number of workgroups for your AMB users. Each workgroup can specify up to nine local or LAN directories, or mainframe PDSs, for each AMB library type. When a user requests a workgroup object from AppMaster Builder, these directories and PDSs are searched in the order they are listed in the workgroup.

You can order the directories and PDSs in a workgroup as you see fit with one exception. If a workgroup consists of a combination of local or LAN folders and mainframe PDSs, the mainframe PDSs must be placed after the local and LAN folders in the list.

Workgroups are available to all AMB users regardless of their primary project, provided they are running AppMaster Builder from the same location.

Note: For the AMB workgroup feature to properly access your mainframe, you must have the command-line interface for the Mainframe Access feature configured and running properly on your PC. For more information, see Configuration.
