Software Requirements

Restriction: This topic applies only when the AppMaster Builder AddPack has been installed, and applies only to Windows platforms.

In addition to Micro Focus software products, Distributed Generation Server also requires third-party middleware interface software components on both the mainframe and the PC/LAN to facilitate communication between APS for z/OS on the mainframe and AppMaster Builder on the PC/LAN. Because the purpose of the Distributed Generation Server is to generate code from source members created on the mainframe using APS for z/OS, we assume that you have both the software and one or more APS projects in place on your mainframe. See your APS documentation for complete information.

The full inventory of software you need to support the installation and execution of the Distributed Generation Server consists of:

Mainframe
  • APS for z/OS
  • Distributed Generation Server mainframe components, provided with the AppMaster Builder AddPack (see PC/LAN below)
  • IBM WebSphere MQ mainframe components (middleware interface software)
PC/LAN
  • Micro Focus Enterprise Developer for Eclipse, version 2.2 Update 1 or later
  • AppMaster Builder AddPack
  • IBM WebSphere MQ PC/LAN components
