Content Manager Enterprise Studio Help
Content Manager Enterprise Studio is used by the Content Manager administrator to create and maintain datasets and services for use with Content Manager. Therefore, as a security feature, Content Manager Enterprise Studio access is limited to administrators who have local administration permissions.
It is recommended that the Content Manager Enterprise Studio user is a system-wide administrator, as access to all Workgroup Servers, databases and various directories may be necessary.
You can access Content Manager Enterprise Studio from the Start menu Programs - Content Manager group.
Functions, datasets and servers appear in a tree structure.
You can access most functions using your right mouse button.
All configuration details are saved in an xml file called TRIMconfig.tcfg.
When you make changes in Content Manager Enterprise Studio, you must save the changes using File - Save or File - Save As.
You can re-open and further edit the file at any time.
The installation of Content Manager Enterprise Studio does not create a .tcfg file.
After you have made changes and saved them, you can choose to deploy the new configuration file to all Workgroup Servers using File - Deploy.
The configuration file is version-stamped and contains a Globally Unique Identifier (GUID).
This ensures that servers belong to a family of Workgroup Servers that service the same dataset(s).
Each Workgroup Server has a copy of the configuration file and will synchronize with servers of the same family to make sure they all have the most recent version.
When a Workgroup Server starts up, it will find the largest version number used and request a copy of it.
To deploy a file which the Workgroup Servers rejected because it is inconsistent with the current configuration, but when you are certain that the new configuration file is correct, you need to deploy the file manually by copying it from one server to the other.
You should deploy the file when database activity is at its lowest possible level to minimize deployment time.
NOTE: You can also view TRIMconfig.tcfg using Microsoft XML Notepad 2007.
