Micro Focus has acquired Liant to strengthen its position in the delivery of technologies within the Application Development market especially PL/I. Application Development is one of four key markets for Micro Focus. The others are Application Modernization, Application Portfolio Management and Application Information Management.
The aqcuisition will give Micro Focus additional software tools and extra programming language expertise. The new technology assets and skills will extend the Micro Focus solutions portfolio.

The Liant company brand will be replaced by the Micro Focus brand. Key Liant product brands will be maintained.

There will be no changes for the foreseeable future given the continuation of Liant product lines.

For Micro Focus, it's essential to maintain customer satisfaction and product usage. Therefore, Micro Focus will definitely support Liant products going forward.
